ELIT is so cool!!! Today's ELIT lecture was EXTREMELY funny!!! I laughed until i cried you know!, Serious!. Mr Arthur Poh ROCKS!!!...he's the best lecturer in the world!! haha...
ok, today's ELIT covers on the topic on the different computer crimes under the Computer Misuse Act. Mr Poh carried on where he left off the last lecture, which is Section 5 of CMA. Section 5 deals with modification of the contents of the information of any computer. The example was hilarious! omg.... ok, last time, before the website of MediaCorp is www.mediacorpsingapore.com, their previous website was www.mediacity.com right? Than Mr Poh launced into saying how he like MediaCorp shows and stuff. He told us that he always rushes back home to see Xi Ling Men leh, and his fav actor is Xie Shao Guang....than he think think think, and he said, 'and my fav actress is Mo Xiao Ling!'...wahahaha...the whole class laughed...dunno why leh, the way he says her name very cute! ;) ....than Mr Poh said 'this guy, name Edwin, unfortunately doesn't like MediaCorp like me, so you know what he did?, ...he hacked into their system, and changed the website, from www.mediacity.com, to www.mediashity.com !!! wahahahahaha.....we laughed until siao sia!!!! so funny!...and it's a TRUE story leh! ....than Mr Poh asked us to imagine, if the System Administrator came to work on Mon, after having so much fun on the weekend, once he sits on his chair and do his work, imagine what will be his reaction when he discovers! haha...well, obviously to MediaCorp is not funny at all lah, but to us, whoa lao!, hahaha....needless to say, MediaCorp sued the person, and he got jailed....the new MediaCorp website address is actually partly coz of this incident leh :p
The next funny section is section 7, which deals with crimes when a person impair the usefulness of any program/data stored inside a computer. And the example was this man called Tan Cheng Kang. Mr Poh said this guy wanted to buy a flat from HDB, since he's marrying his girlfriend soon. but he waited and waited for HDB's reply, but no answer, so he sent an email to them, but still no answer...and you know what he did?, because he was so angry, he sent 2500 emails to HDB!!!!!! wahahaha....Mr Poh said 'imagine what the HDB people will react when they open their email!...2500 blinking alerts at once!!!!....hahahaha....Than one student asked, 'but what if i'm not aware that i'm sending so many emails?' Mr Poh said how can you not know?!, your hand very itchy so you pressed 2500 times izzit??...wahaha....
Ok, than Mr Poh explained the Mitigating Factors, which also means to say 'I'm Sorry' to judge. There are Good & Bad mitigating factors, for good, the judge may consider lowering the sentence, whereas the bad, it's no use explaining the judge using those excuses..one of the good factors will be pleading guilty at the earliest opportunity. Than Mr Poh kinna 'acted' out a senario, which is like this: When the police suspect and comes to arrest, he cried, 'oh, i'm guilty!, i'm guilty!, don't send me to jail!'...haha, i don't think it'll ever happen in real life though :p ...and for the bad factors, 1 is you cannot say that you dunno the law, cannot say that '(Mr Poh acted in an ah beng voice) Oh, eh, i dunno the law ah, i only know law is L.A.W ah' ...wahahaha...another one was 'the sole bread winner theory'....wa lao, this one very funny!...Mr Poh acted again 'Please, i don't wanna go to jail, my father got diabeties, my mother got high blood pressure, my brother got kidney problem....ai yo, if i go to jail hor, my father cannot take care of himself later he die ah, my mother later go jump from the 15 storey ah, and my brother need dialysis, *asks the judge*, eh...maybe you wanna donate your kidney??' ...wahahaha...i laughed so hard leh!!...by the end of the lesson, i had to wipe away my tears....ya, it's THAT funny!....haha...oh no, *scrolls up*.. i wrote 3 paragraphs??!!! :p i think i'm hooked on ELIT already...got a feeling that i'll score really good at it :) ...and did i say Mr Poh rocks?...haha....
Maketing lecture, at first wasn't good, coz was late as i accompanied Meiying to toilet, she got diarreahe (how the hell do you spell this?) ...than when i go into the classroom, everybody was looking at me, felt like an idiot, so embarassing....But after that during the discussion, Alver asked me to join the them, so it was ok...Thanks Alver! :) ....Well, tmr have to wake up early again for Maths....sian. Oh, today we managed to borrow the video cam!, so tmr we'll be going to film. Film what exactly, i dunno, but still quite excited ;P
